PICKLEBALL
Pickleball is one of the world's fastest growing sports. Incorporating aspects of tennis, badminton and table tennis it is easy to learn and suitable for a wide range of ages and skill levels.
MainPower Stadium is the home of Pickleball in North Canterbury, with social and competitive formats at MainPower Stadium running now.
We'll supply all the gear - we just need the players!
Please note that while Pickleball can be suitable for all ages and attracts many older players, it is important players have a suitable level of mobility and balance to avoid falls and injury.
WEEKLY CONVENED SESSIONS
$8 per person each session

REGULAR OPEN REC SESSION TIMES:
Unless stated otherwise all our Open Rec Sessions cater for players of all ages, skill levels, experience and abilities. Sessions will be run with a combination of general and graded mixing up of players. When possible new players will be coached separately until deemed ready to join the main group. All equipment is provided.
We encourage all our more experienced players to be supportive and encouraging of new players to create a great playing experience for everyone.
Tuesdays
9:00am - 10:30am
10:30am - 12pm
Wednesdays
9:30am - 11am
6:00pm - 7:30pm
7:30pm - 9:00pm
Thursdays
9:30am - 11:00am
During these sessions we will play mostly doubles (depending on numbers) and will mix people up so they are playing with and against different people of a similar skill level throughout the session.
Some coaching and rules instruction will be provided if required.
Booking into any of these sessions is advised as there will be capped numbers at the more popular sessions. You can book using the GymMaster App or by contacting MainPower Stadium on 03 975 5560 or email: mainpowerstadium@sportstrust.org.nz.
Please note booking DOES NOT give you priority on court over "walk in" players, it will just guarantee you a place in the group and speed up the sign in process when you arrive. If a session is fully booked walk in players will not be able to join in.
During busy open rec sessions there may be as many as four players on the sideline each round, so you may be asked to take your turn on the sideline during the rotations, but not more than once per session.
Along with capping numbers at sessions we will also be running a waitlist, so if you book and then find you cannot attend you MUST cancel your booking to allow the next person on the waitlist the chance to get in. Failure to cancel multiple times may prevent you from booking in future.
CASUAL PICKLEBALL:
Players are invited to book courts at MainPower Stadium in their own time for casual play or their own group sessions. Times are subject to court availability.
Cost is $8 per player for 60 minutes or $10 per player for 90 minutes. Paddle hire is included in this price but we will be asking hirers to purchase balls in the near future for approx $6 each.

Our Pickleball Academy for Year 7-10 students runs during each school term at 4:30-5:30pm on Wednesdays at MainPower Stadium.
If you have kids, or know any kids, the right age who are interested in giving Pickleball a go then sign them up for this introductory programme to our new favourite sport.
Parents and siblings are also welcome to come along and have their own hit if courts are available.

Pickleball
lunchtime league
Join our fun and competitive Lunchtime Pickleball League.
All you need to do is find a partner and sign up - we'll supply all equipment. Some Pickleball experience is required but all skill levels are catered for.
When: Thursdays 12-1pm / 8-9 week competition through the school Term
